Teach Science Your Way with TCI

Today’s classrooms demand flexible lesson options. From hands-on investigations to simulations to video-driven activities, TCI’s NGSS-aligned science programs include flexible lesson options so that you can engage all learners, no matter your schedule.

Immersive Hands-on Investigations

Perhaps the most popular option in TCI science classrooms is student-led investigations. These investigations are easily chunked to fit elementary or middle school schedules and can be taught over multiple days.

TCI’s investigations include grab-and-go lab materials and interactive slideshows that teachers use to guide the class. Students follow instructions directly in their Science Journals, capturing notes and data from the investigation along the way. Students walk away with a strong grasp of science concepts.

Opportunities to Extend Science Learning

Each investigation provides opportunities for additional coverage of science concepts. Middle school students can further their content engagement through TCI’s Key Science Concept Video Activities. Elementary teachers can deepen student understanding of concepts with extensions that build upon the investigation.

Additionally, TCI’s ever-expanding learning libraries for K-8 science programs let you add enrichment to your science lessons with videos, games, and simulations. From videos of real-world phenomena that prompt students to ask questions to games like Robo Quest, there are many opportunities to capture students’ attention.

Quick Super Simple Science Investigations

TCI understands the time challenges elementary teachers face in balancing multiple subjects. When elementary teachers only have 30 minutes to teach a lesson, they can rely on TCI’s Super Simple Science investigation option. Teachers can rely on Super Simple Science for quick and engaging lessons for their classes.

Super Simple Science includes a high-interest reading or video and comes with a short, easy three-dimensional investigation. For example, first graders explore the “Land of the Midnight Sun” and conduct an investigation to explore sun patterns in Barrow, Alaska. Fifth graders learn about “Unwanted Snakes” and dig into the effects of invasive species on ecosystems.
