TCI provides alternate formats to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Students and teachers can toggle between English and Spanish when viewing the online text.
Our Interactive Student Notebook is also available in Spanish. Visit the TCI Store to order.
Student subscriptions have an audio feature that allows teachers to work with visually impaired students in an effective, easy to implement manner.
Print customers may also access Rich Text Format (RTF) files that can be used along side text-to-speech software, for Braille transcription, and for large print.
For all programs published since July 2006, publishers are required to provide textbook materials digitally in a standardized format (XML) to the National Instructional Materials Access Center (NIMAC). Each state registers with NIMAC, and teachers who want to use the materials for versions in Braille, digital text, large text, and audio must be authorized by their school or district to download files.
TCI has sent files for the Student Edition and Lesson Masters to NIMAC for History Alive! The Medieval World and Beyond. Please visit NIMAC's Web site to learn more: http://www.nimac.us/.
