Accessibility

TCI believes that every student can learn. To turn belief into practice, TCI offers Student Editions in alternate formats to reach students with diverse needs.

  • For Spanish Speakers
Translation of Student Editions for elementary and middle school programs
  • For Visually Impaired
For programs published prior to 2006: Rich Text Files (RTF) for Braille, large-print, or use with text-to-speech software

For all programs published after July 2006: publishers are required to provide textbook materials digitally in a standardized format (XML) to the National Instructional Materials Access Center (NIMAC). Each state registers with NIMAC, and teachers who want to use the materials for versions in Braille, digital text, large text, and audio must be authorized by their school or district to download files. Visit http://nimas.cast.org/about/resources/nimas_nimac_contacts to find your state NIMAC representative.
  • For Deaf or Hard of Hearing Students
Text of the spoken audio tracks in PDF files
